Interim Building Surveyor – Stock Condition Surveys – Local Authority – Competitive Day Rate

We’re currently seeking an experienced Building Surveyor to support a local authority in Scotland on an interim basis. The role will focus primarily on stock condition surveys across the council’s commercial asset portfolio.

Key Responsibilities:

• Carry out detailed stock condition surveys to assess the state and compliance of assets
• Provide clear, accurate reporting to inform asset management and investment planning
• Liaise with internal teams and tenants to coordinate access and deliver updates
• Ensure all work aligns with current standards and regulatory requirements

Requirements:

• Proven experience in stock condition surveying, ideally within a public sector
• Strong understanding of Scottish regulations and compliance frameworks
• Ability to work independently and manage a varied caseload
• Relevant surveying qualification (RICS/CIOB or equivalent preferred)
