Accounts Assistant (Fixed Term)


Job Description

Major Recruitment are currently recruiting for an Accounts Assistant, on behalf of a Globally respected client in the Oil & Gas sector. This position is based in Aberdeen City Centre and would be a Full-Time Fixed-Term Contract of 9-12 Months.

Location: Portlethen

Salary: Flexible depending on experience

Responsibilities of the Accounts Assistant Position:

To assist the Finance Manager in providing strong accounts administrative support in the areas of:

  • General Ledger
  • Accounts Receivable
  • Accounts Payable
  • Cashbook

Perform all duties in a safe and efficient manner in line with Quality procedures and LEAN principles.

What our Client are looking for in an Accounts Assistant:

  • Accuracy and Attention to Detail: Understanding the necessity and value of accuracy; ability to complete tasks with high levels of precision.
  • Level Working Knowledge:
    • Utilizes specific approaches and tools for checking and cross-checking outputs.
    • Processes limited amounts of detailed information with good accuracy.
    • Learns from mistakes and applies lessons learned.
  • Flexibility and Adaptability: Knowledge of successful approaches and techniques for dealing with change; ability to adapt to a changing environment and be comfortable with change.
  • Level Working Knowledge:
    • Adjusts to new or changing assignments, processes, and people.
    • Identifies and considers alternative approaches to situations or problems.

Top candidates for the Accounts Assistant role will also have:

  • Computerised Accounting systems experience
  • Experience of Accounts Payable financial systems
  • Experience of Accounts Receivable financial systems
  • Excellent knowledge of Microsoft office packages particularly Excel
